Thom's Four Wheel Drive and Auto Service, Inc.
I had a good friend recommend this place to me about 7 years ago and I have been thanking my lucky stars every since. Thom is just the best, most decent, awesome mechanic there is. I always feel like I'm going in to see my other dad. He's always up front, always explains everything to me in as much detail as I need and I honestly trust him 100 %.I first started going in there with a 97 Bravada which was a lemon of a car! And every time I'd take it in for an oil change he'd tell me to get rid of it! ha! At one point the A/C died and I took it in and he told me that it would cost more to fix it then what the car was even worth and not to do it. He didn't even charge me for the visit that day. And later that year I sold the car. What I really love about his place is that whenever I came in with a problem like "When I press the brake, the car starts making this weird sound", the FIRST they would do when I arrived was to drive around with me so they could hear exactly what I was talking about. That alone was so great...And usually just by actually hearing it, they could tell what was wrong. The other thing that I really loved was that they'd always keep me updated on everything. So when I'd get an oil change, they'd go over a few things, like, "Your such and such is starting to look worn out...It probably has another 8 months to a year left, so nothing you have to fix any time soon, but we'll keep checking on it again when you come in for your oil changes to see how it looks." So I rarely had any surprises. Once, they did a repair on the Bravada and a week later something wasn't right. So I took it back in and they looked everything over and found in the area they had just worked on, something amiss...But they said it shouldn't have gone amiss so they took full responsibility and fixed it up with no charge. Then I got an old 95 Jeep Wrangler and boy did I have a million problems with that car. But Thom was always there, always helping me through it all. I finally told Thom I had decided I wanted to sell it within the year, and so with that in mind, we'd figure out what HAD to be fixed...what could wait...what we could replace with a used part if I was just going to get rid of the car soon...etc...He always worked with me on everything. They really were like a little family to me.I finally sold my Jeep 2 years ago (Thom helped guide me through that too!) and I miss seeing them over there. I actually live super far away from them- but it was always worth the trip. And as soon as I get another car, I will be back!!!Love you guys!
